Who to contact in Human Resources

HR LEADERSHIP

Shari Stier: Senior Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (617-824-8133)

Leads the HR Office. Works collaboratively, develops and implements HR strategy based upon best practices and high quality service. Committed to the effective delivery of programs and services across the College.

Pam Walsh: Assistant Vice President, Employee Engagement (617-824-3565)

Leads the Employee Engagement Team. Works with the Engagement team to create a highly engaged, diverse workforce through creative recruiting, focused orientational development, employee relations, and strategic communication. 

 

Peter Owens: Assistant Vice President, Compensation/Benefits (617-824-8581)

Leads the HR Benefits department. Oversees its various and multiple functions. 

HR OPERATIONS

This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions and activities related to HR Information Systems and HR reporting.

Rachel Gelaw: HRIS Specialist (617-824-8256)

Maintains Emerson's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and ensures accuracy of data elements related to our faculty and staff. Works closely with peers to manage ongoing processes, implement new projects and propose areas for improvement, as well as special projects. 

Senior HRIS Data Reporting Analyst (617-824-3013)

Partners with members of the Human Resources team and the college community to deliver operational and service excellence in regards to human capital data reporting, analytics and human resources system functionality.

 

Carlos Ramos: HR Service Center Associate (617-824-8583)

Provides operational support and high quality service for both the human resources department and Emerson employees. Responsible for general HR operations and responds to inquiries regarding benefits, employment and human resources policies. Provides high levels of problem-solving employee issues and serves as a facilitator of information between employees and HR policies and processes.

HR Service Center Data Entry Associate (617-824-3617)

Provides operational support and high quality service for both the human resources department and Emerson employees. Responsible for general HR operations and responds to inquiries regarding benefits, employment and human resources policies. Provides high levels of problem-solving employee issues and serves as a facilitator of information between employees and HR policies and processes.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions and activities related to organization-wide staff development and serves an advisory role with respect to organizational development. It is also responsible for the policies, processes, decisions, and activities related to employment, including recruitment, hiring, on-boarding (orientation), employee relations, and terminations. It's also manages the leave and accommodations process. 

 

Laurie Meacham: HR Business Partner (HRBP) (617-824-3683)

Supports Human Resources through employee relations and performance management. Manages the leave and accommodations processes, partners with departments to identify skills needed to meet goals, and works with leadership to train staff in skills and mindsets. Divisions supported: Student Affairs, Office of Social Justice, Enrollment Management, ArtsEmerson, Administration and Finance, Emerson LA.

Other Divisions will be sported by either Laurie Meacham or Pam Walsh as needed. These include: Information Technology. Academic Affairs, Institutional Advancement, General Counsel/ECPD.

Kellie Fuller: Learning & Engagement Specialist (617-824-8208)

Supports the Emerson community through the delivery of various learning events, including CliftonStrengths, spearheading the Service Excellence initiative and shepherding the HR policy process. Also Supports Human Resources though the building of New Hire Orientation and the first year employee curriculum. Helps in identifying training and development opportunities throughout the college for employees.

Janet Pohli: Talent Acquisition Specialist (617-824-8995)

Supports Human Resources through oversight of hiring and retaining staff. 

Clare Wilson Pelton: HR Coordinator (617-824-3580)

Oversees the HR Website and other communication functions. Provides general office support through booking space, and event planning. Supports the Employment Team in all other areas when needed. 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This function is responsible for the policies, processes, decisions and activities related to compensation, benefits, health and financial wellness programs and total rewards.

Tricia Kennedy: Senior Benefits and Compensation Specialist (617-824-8124)

Liaison to benefit vendors. Manages programs such as the Wellness Program, Benefits Orientations and ACA Compliance. Provides guidance to HR Service Center staff with escalated benefit inquiries.  

HR ADMINISTRATION

Norma De La Cruz: Senior Administrative Associate (617-824-8580)

Provides administrative and programmatic support to the CHRO and the entire Human Resources team. Welcomes visitors, maintains HR files, reaches out to new hires, coordinates HR activities, and simplifies and streamlines central HR processes.

Julie Spataro: Leave of Absence Administrator (617-824-8452)

Manages and supports the effective and legally compliant administration and communication of Emerson College's Leave of Absences. Including but not limited to: parental, disability, FMLA, ADA, military, workers compensation, accommodations, and personal leave.
