One Week in

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for being so supportive throughout the launch of Workday! We are pleased to have had such a great response and have received invaluable feedback already. Below is some information that we want to be sure to share with you.

Known Issues:

  • The “403b Transamerica Retirement Mandatory” coverage and deduction begin dates are not displaying correctly for many employees on the Benefits Elections screen. This does not affect the actual payroll records that are being processed at this time.

  • Employees who received an email saying they are eligible for the catch-up contribution for the Health Savings Account can ignore this erroneously sent message.

  • Access to all Supplier Catalogs (previously known as Marketplace) has been temporarily disabled to validate supplier connections. As we confirm connections we will turn them back on and anticipate having all Suppliers enabled and active within a few days.

  • Access to “Create Expense Report” has been temporarily disabled so the Finance team can address an issue with the credit card feed. Access should be restored within a few days. Please disregard any Workday notifications regarding PCard transactions you may have received.

Reminders and Common Questions:

  • Even though the pay period is based on a semi-monthly schedule (e.g. 7/1-7/15), exempt employees must access their timesheet every week to either acknowledge no time taken or to enter time off.

  • To certify no time off taken, select the Time application on your Workday homepage. then follow this guide to submit.

  • To request future dates or enter time off already taken, select the Time Off and Leave application from your Workday homepage, then follow this guide to submit.

  • Exempt employees either enter “no time taken” for the entire week or indicate their time off. There is no need to do both. If you have already requested and received approval for time off, you do not need to acknowledge time worked.

  • Faculty information is still being checked and updated. We will reach out to faculty members later this summer when the data is ready for review and validation.

  • Employment history data will not come over to Workday from Banner. This includes previous managers or positions at Emerson.

  • Job descriptions are not yet in Workday. We will move them over throughout the summer.

  • Workday training sessions are ongoing. Please use this link to enroll.

Again, thank you for all the support throughout the launch of Workday. We couldn’t have done it without you!
