Overview for Interviewing Faculty

Follow the steps below to complete the Interview tasks in Workday.

Instructions for Interviewing Faculty - Deans

  1. When a candidate has been Recommended for onsite interview, a corresponding task will appear in the inbox of the Dean.

    1. At the bottom of the task, select the appropriate Move Forward reason.

      1. If selecting Approved for onsite Interview, the process will route to the Search Committee Chair to continue in Workday.

    2. If selecting Decline onsite interview, the candidate will be dispositioned. The profile of the candidate will still be available via the Candidates tab on the job requisition, filed under Inactive Candidates.

Instructions for Interviewing Faculty - Search Committee Chair

  1. When a candidate has been Approved for onsite Interview, a corresponding task will appear in the inbox of the Search Committee Chair

  2. After conducting interviews outside of Workday, access the inbox task for the candidate. Choose:

    1. Finalist: Move finalists to the next stage in the process, which will then route to the Dean.

    2. Decline: Select the appropriate disposition reason. The profile of the candidate will still be available via the Candidates tab on the job requisition, filed under Inactive Candidates.

Candidate Finalists - Dean

  1. Candidates designated as Finalist will route as a Finalist inbox task to the Dean.

  2. At the bottom of the inbox task, select Offer.

    1. At this time, only one candidate should be moved to Offer. The remaining Finalist inbox tasks should remain in case the candidate receiving an offer declines, and an offer needs to be presented to another finalist.

What Happens Next?

After moving a finalist to Offer, an Offer task will route to the inbox of the Dean. The Dean will then initiate an offer for the elected finalist.
