Overview of Time Entry for Student Workers

This process explains the essential time entry process for student workers, which must be entered no later than Friday every week for Students and must be approved by Monday 12pm EST for Supervisors.

As a best practice time should be entered every day for greatest accuracy.

Instructions for Time Entry for Student Workers

  1. Select the Time application on your Workday homepage.

  2. Under the Enter Time options, select This Week. This will bring you to your timesheet.

  3. In the bottom-left corner of the screen, click the Enter Time button. Then, click Enter Time.

  4. For each day of the week you worked, click on that day’s tab and do the following:

    1. Time Type: Defaults to Student Employment. Do not change this field.

    2. In the Quantity tab, enter the number of hours worked that day.

  5. After finished entering your time, click OK at the bottom of the page. You will be returned to your timesheet.

  6. Review all entries and then click the Submit button in the bottom-left corner of the page.

  7. On the next page, you will receive a message asking you to confirm the time you are submitting is true and complete. Click the Submit button in the bottom-left corner of the page..

What Happens Next?

The timesheet will then route to your manager for approval. If there are any issues with your timesheet, your manager will send back the submission. You will receive an email notification to access your Workday inbox to check your timesheet entries and correct time, and submit them again.
