Checking Federal Work Student Eligibility

To check a student’s Federal Work Study eligibility, supervisors of students may check this information via the Student External Profile.

  1. In Workday, look up the student’s name in the search bar.
    • If you have Simplified Search enabled, you’ll want to go to “All Categories” and then select “Student.”Student External Profile Search.png
    • If Simplified Search is disabled, you’ll go to the sidebar and select “More Categories” and then select “Student.”Student Categories Search.png
  2. Once you are in the student’s External Student Profile, you’ll select “Overview”.
  3. Work Study Eligibility should be listed at the very bottom. It’ll read Yes or No.
    • If a student has Yes next to Work-Study Eligible, they have FWS packaged.
    • If there is a No next to their name, they do not currently have FWS packaged. Our office may be able to package FWS for them if they meet the eligibility criteria or if enough funds are available. This is where it is crucial to email Student Employment to ensure that this is the case, or confirm that the student does not meet the qualifications. The email address is student_employment@emerson.edu.
